'I
have been married to Janet for 24 years and have 3 children, Caris 19,
Mark 18 and Zoe 14. I have been a Financial Advisor for 21 years and
I continue to work in this capacity whilst leading West Cross Community
Church. |
'I
have been married to Lyndsey for 8 years and have a two year old son,
Joseph. I am 31 years old and worked for Vauxhalls for 10 years before
coming to Swansea. For the past two years I've been studying theology
at the Bible College of Wales and will be completing my degree in 2008. |
| How did you become a Christian? | |
|
'I
became a Christian when I was about 12, a friend invited me to a camp
(not unlike our TRIBE camp) and the process which had started continued then.' |
'I
went to church with Lyndsey and was very impressed with the testimony
of someone who was sharing the difficult circumstances in his life.
I couldn't understand how he could be so happy when life was so hard
for him. I kept going to the church and made a commitment five months
later.' |
| What difference does being a Christian make to you? | |
|
'Being
a Christian affects the places I have chosen to live, the jobs I have
had, the person I married, the way we bring up our children, and all
aspects of life.' |
'Being a Christian has completely changed my life in every way and my friends and family have noticed the difference.' |
| What is your vision for the church? | |
|
'To
be a community or communities living ordinary lives but serving an extraordinary
God and showing that being Christians, loving God and
each other is the only way to live that is fulfilling, truly happy and purpose filled. Society is full of divisions - young old, rich poor, black white. It is in local churches that the difference that God makes is known. The reason why we are seeking to build community ACROSS the generations is simple. It's not like the world which splits up ages. Christianity brings people together.' |
'I see church as the place where people can come and be a family together and grow as Christians. I would particularly like to see more families joining the church and the children's work growing.' |
