We are ‘Evangelical’ which means that we firmly believe the Bible to be true and trustworthy. Jesus Himself is central to all that we believe and we are firmly convinced that He rose from the dead, and will return, and is the only way in which we can truly be at peace with ourselves and of course God. We are a ‘charismatic’ church, which means that we tend to be enthusiastic in expressing our faith and worship and the gifts mentioned in the New Testament Bible times, we believe are available today. We regularly pray for people to be healed and have seen a number of healings amongst us.

Most of us live around the West Cross area, although there are people who live in various parts of Swansea. We normally meet at West Cross Community Centre at 10.30 on Sunday mornings. Each morning is different and well sometimes include a speaker, a multimedia presentation, regular ‘participation and sharing’ from people present, and usually includes our family meal (usually called communion, but in the Bible ‘breaking bread’). We do it differently though, but it means the same! Sometimes our ‘breaking bread’ includes a meal called an ‘Agape’ which expresses our care and love for each other.

We as a church believe that prayer works and that it can change circumstances. We meet every week in different people’s houses and have a cuppa and some biccies and spend about one hour praying for the community, people in the church and events that are happening etc. We also spend time praying for our city of Swansea and our nation of Wales. Sometimes we meet in the old Food Basket and we pray for 24 hours when there are different people there praying. Yes, even the teenagers come and pray because they believe that God listens to them. Many of these youngsters have proved God in different ways in their lives.

We believe that when we pray we are communicating with God and we are also able to listen to Him speaking to us. Prayer is a two way communication. There are many ways to pray, you don’t just have to speak words, you can write prayers, you can draw pictures as prayers, you can dance prayers and you can sing prayers. There are probably a lot more ways of communicating with God that we haven’t even thought about yet.

Why do we pray???

We pray because we believe that God is interested in every aspect of our lives. We believe that God can heal people today and we have people in the church who can tell of how God has healed them.

We love to pray for people who have problems so please send an e:mail to us at w3c@ntlworld.com or at ljbag-end@ntlworld.com and you will know that there will be people praying for you and your situation or contact us and let us know how God has answered your prayers.
