Jodi's and Jacko's Baptisms

Q What were you like before you became a Christian?
I was really self involved and very conscious of peer pressure. This was really important to me and I always wanted to be the centre of attention.I felt unfulfilled and dissatisfied. I realised that I needed something to fill that.

Q How did you become a Christian?

I went to Tribe camp last year where I encountered God and the Holy Spirit. God became real to me. I realised that I needed to live my life for God. I realised that it was God that was missing from my life.

Q How has becoming a Christian changed your life?

It's changed my lifestyle completely. I was scared of what others might think in the first place but then I realised that wasn't the most important thing. I knew I wanted to learn more about God so I joined a cell group. I went through a time when things were quite difficult and then I realised that I could only trust in God and it was so cool.

Q Why get baptised?

It's one way of telling all of my friends and family about being a Christian. Also it's saying that I'm leaving the past behind and going on with God.

God has chosen us - just let Him into your life because He can turn your life around!

Q What was your life like before you became a Christian?
I was basically a thug. I was doing drugs, getting drunk, involved in gang fights. In fact my life was quite screwed up.

Q How did you become a Christian?
In Manchester there was this thing called Message 2000. I was invited along by a vicar to a gig. When I went there was this really cool girl who was talking about Christianity so I listened (mainly because she was so great looking!) I began to think that what she was saying made a load of sense. Then she said something like if you want to give your life to God just stand. Before I realised what I was doing I was standing up. It was really strange. I then started going along to church and youth groups and learnt more about God. Now my life is really different: I'm not a thug, I'm not on drugs, I don't get drunk...it's really cool.

Q Why get baptised?

I was reading my Bible and it says to repent and get baptised. I prayed about it and felt God telling me that I should be baptised.

Keep asking questions all of the time and it will help you to make up your own mind about God and things. My life changed so much because I became a Christian. It's the best thing I've ever done!
